Natural Disasters: Hazard+ Vulnerability= Risk

Today's class has been mostly about natural disasters in third world countries, and the huge difference that is seen between the way that developed and third world countries are able to cope. A country that already has a nonexistent infrastructure and people who suffer from chronic malnutrition is at a huge disadvantage in a. Time of crisis.
An event is not a disaster unless there is human involvement. When the two key factors: Hazard and vulnerability are high, is when massive loss of life occurs. We're seeing that right now in Mindanao.
Yesterday we practiced giving subcutaneous , intramuscular and intradermal injections using sterile water. By the way, intradermal injections burn!
